The Goldfields Eight Ball Association is based in the gold mining town of Kalgoorlie Western Australia. Located about 600 km's east of Perth the association has approximately 250 playing members.
The association caters for two seasons. Winter Competition is played between March and August with the Summer Competition played between October and February. Winter Competition is the main premiership season and consists of two divisions whereas the Summer Competition is focused on a more socially orientated basis.
The Association's major annual tournament is the Goldfields Open Singles which is worth $1500 in Prize Money. This is generally held in late July each year.
The association also enters teams in the Country Week Championships which are played in Perth on the long weekend in June. The association enters multiple teams to this event and is regarded by many as the highlight to the year.
The Goldfields Eight Ball Association uses The Grand Hotel Boulder as home base. With three near new tables the hotel caters for the majority of association events and prides itself on keeping the tables in tip top condition.
Kalgoorlie may not be the largest town around but the small town has produced some very well known players such as;
